Founded in Kyoto in 2013, the Kyoto Food Meister Association (KFMA) 

is an independent educational organization dedicated to the study 

and transmission of Kyoto food culture.

We develop learning programs that explore Kyoto’s food culture with depth and context, and currently offer international programs focused on matcha education.


About us

Based in Kyoto, KFMA has worked closely with local producers, educators, and cultural practitioners to document, teach, and pass on knowledge of Kyoto ingredients.

Our online programs are designed for learners around the world who wish to understand matcha and Kyoto ingredients beyond sensory evaluation.
